Lisbon February 26&27, 2026

Phone in hand, Google maps sending us off on our adventure to see the castle - Castelo de Sao Jorge. Got on the bus in the wrong direction!

Off and across the street on and we are on our way. 

We got off at the stop 'Restauradones' and true to its name there were restaurants everywhere. Transfered to go up the hill. 

Lots of souvenier shops.

Building facades decorated with ceramic tiles.

And another.

Stop at the top short walk past more resturants, we skipped the line again and arrived at the gate.

 And a peek through the gate to the fortress walls.

No ticket  so no entrance we wandered down the narrow cobble stone roads.

And found this delightful restaurant tucked away all by itself.

Dave had Stone Soup.

I had octopus. 

Very yummy.

Another restful day. There was a market set up on a street very close to us. We walked it end to end.

I bought a raspberry beret.

 

And a new wallet/purse.

Made of cork.

Bought some e souveniers and then more of this.
