Port Hardy/ Quatsino. Sept 19, 2024
Woke up to cloudy and over caste, with some light rain.
He is a pretty big fellow.
Started our adventure with a quick stop at Home Hardware for hiking necessaries.
Rumors have it Dave's lot is over grown with blackberry bushes. This is the same Home Hardware Dave bought his building supplies to build his cabin. Keep in mind I use the word cabin very closely.
Made it to Coal Harbour. This place has an interesting history. As the name suggests coal plays a part. Unfortunatly the coal was poor quality and the mines closed. In its day it was a site of whale hunting. It was also an RAF training site for pilots in WWII.
No rain Quatsino!
Boat stopped on one dock to drop off the mail. Then to the dock at the lodge to drop off the other passenger. We got off here too.
Then the hiking began.

This little road runs through Quatsino. It does ho any where it just connected the few homes here. He spent most of 3 hours hiking. We walked a path up from the beach on Dave's property. We stumbled across a place where they grow trucks.
This one is just about ready for picking. Also found this cabin up there with no road in or out.
Now some photos of Dave's lot.
From the road
Part way down from the neighbors lot.
Do you see the blue. It's what's left of the cabin.

Munched on these.
Made it to the end of the road.
