Roma near 🦅st.pk. TX. Jan 22, 24

Everyday I see Road Runners and most nights hear  the coyotes howl.  I've seen an eagle and evidence of avacados 🥑 I mean aardvarks🦡I mean armadillos🦔 You can tell where they have been grazing.  I've heard stories of pigs🐗. And today I did  see the pig🐖! I was with Suki when I spotted it. I quickly rushed Suki to the motorhome as quietly as possible. Grabbed my phone. I didn't need to have hurried. The pig wasn't going anywhere.  The neighbour was feeding it 🍎.
But it's not a pig it's a Javalina
Which are not pigs at all. They are native to this area. Now I know what this sign means.

After all the Javalina excitement we headed into Roma to find a bottle of sliced rum. Which was a much bigger adventure the we ever could have imagined.
First thing Texas has weird liquor laws. While they sell beer and wine practically every and any where. Liquor is another story.  Only avaiable in specialized stores.
Normally this shouldn't be a big deal one would think. Roma is a city with over 10,000 😳. First place I go to check is Google which gives locations to 3 liquor stores. Off we go, following exactly where we were told to go. Pulling to the parking lot we see the Oyster Bar resturant and a Little Ceasars and nothing else. We drove around the two buildings finding the liquor store hiding behind Little Ceasars.

However, it's closed. Not deterred from our quest we access Google again. Again we followed direction with no liquor store sighted. Google twice told us we had arrived. Also indicated we were within 450 meters. We attempted walking around to no avail. Into the gas ⛽️ station to ask for directions.
The woman I asked was unaware of any liquor store near-by. Her English was weak and my Spanish non existent. She gave directions indicating there was a liquor store by Church's Chicken 🐔 and immigration. Once again off we went.
We arrived at Church's Chicken where we parked across the way at a Dollar General. No liquor store insight. Into the store we go and are given easily followed walking direction. 🚶‍♂️ 🚶‍♀️  low and behold we 👀 the liquor store. But it was a duty free store. We even checked to see if by some off chance we could purchase a bottle but of course not. We were right at the border crossing. We were directed back to the one and only liquor store in town.
Not ready to give up I called ahead. Yes he said we are open. And when we arrived he wasn't.  Still determined I 📞  again. He said sorry and arrived a couple minutes later. In we go.
Picked out a bottle and went to pay for it. And the till was not started. He started it up. Then it didn't make an internet connection.  We paid in cash. The clerk asked me if I drank tequila 🙃.  I said yes and he gave us a couple bottles.
After all this it was time to go back for happy 😊 hour.
