Cold 🥶 snap over! We survived!!☀️
High of 22°C today.
- dress code was tank top and shorts
- even used the air conditioner 31°C inside the motorhome. 
We went to the dam today. Followed the road labeled Falcon dam ➡️.
Arrived at the dam and yes there is a road across. However, to go across you have to go through border crossing to Mexico. Didn't have our passports so turned around. 

Next we decided to take some miscellaneous country roads. Saw road runners but I wasn't fast enough to get a picture. But we did see:
Big houses

Colourful houses
Very old houses
Houses for sale
Not just a house a business.

Welcoming committee wasn't very welcoming. We didn't make an offer.

Ended up needing little Miss Google to find our way back. 
Did some exploring at Falcon Park looking for the lake.
Found the boat ramps.
But no water! And a useless sign.

Had to walk a ways to find the lake.

And got a picture of the dam.
Back home for the

          Lovely end to a lovely day!

Port Hardy/Port McNeil/Alert Bay. September 24, 2024

This is the only picture I took of Port McNeil. It's much like Port Hardy.  The big difference I noticed is that Port Hardy has a Save-on-Foods and Port McNeil has an IGA. This is where we caught the ferry over to Alert Bay. You only pay one way. Foot passengers pay $7.60 except seniors who pay $0. I pays to get old! This is the first sign you see when getting off the ferry. This is the second one. Our first stop was at the visitor centre. The woman there had lived her whole life except 8 months in Calgary in Alert Bay.  She's First Nation and was very active in the community. She shared the many First Nations sites in Alert Bay. There are 2 burial grounds currently being used and one historical, a long house, many totems throughout the village and a cultural centre. She recommended seeing the cultural centre to start. It's about a 45  minute walk. Alert Bay is one of the earliest settlements in the North Island. In the early days the fishermen and loggers would come into...

It is still 🔥🌞🌞🔥 Every morning at 8:30 this playground fills up with noisy children. It's our walk up call. What a joyful noise to wake up to. This picture is from our front window. The breakfast restaurant is right under the green. Our room has a 'balcony' which translate to sliding balcony doors with a waist high plexiglass barrier so you can't leave the room. Our day was spent at the resort. Lots of relaxing in the shade 😎, eating 🍝, and happy hours 🍷🍸🍹🍺.            Loving all inclusive! Dave found this great 3-D wall muriel that I had not noticed.  A close up. Last day was most relaxing!                          🎇 🎇 🎇
