Dead Horse Ranch 🐎 Nov 26, 23
Today we traveled north to Dead Horse Ranch State Park. Nice easy drive except a bit tense getting through Phoenix. Between Google and Renee the Navigator we survived!
The cities here are long and narrow and strung together. Like the lower mainland only longer and skinnier!!!
Out of the long city we were travelling the road through the desert. For no reason I can think of we come across a traffic circle. Bizarre right? Even weirder it was followed in 1 mile intervals by 7 more. Most of the exits were closed. Gotta love Arizona.
Arrived in the park during day light so had plenty of time to set up camp. Chairs out, BBQ out
and fire pit out.
Enough light to go for a walk/hike. So map in hand we set out to find the river. The pamphlet gave a warning if it starts raining ...run! All the killer plants were trimmed back making for a lovely stroll. Found the river and saw a fly fisherman. Continued to follow the trail. And follow the trail. And follow the trail. And follow the trail!!!! I was ready to turn around but Dave wanted to go a little further. So we continued to follow the trail. Finally made sighting of civilization.
Met this stagecoach on the trail back home.
Continued walking in the opposite direction at least this time on pavement. Still doing some guessing but feeling more confident we made it backto our site.

By this time we were too cold and it was too dark to use our outdoor stuff. So cooking inside and watched some Corination Street. A good day!!!
