Middle of Nowhere. March 02
Started fine but we had to stop when the wind tore off the awning over the fold out. Luck would have it we were only 250 metres from a rest stop. You can not imagine the racket. I was driving and had no idea had happened.
Dave went up the ladder and found the metal roller with the awning attached. He managed to bring it down and the awning cut off before the dust storm hit.
This is the roller
So now the awning was flapping around hitting at the roof and sides of the motorhome. After some time it started ripping. We went out and finished the job.
The wind remained strong and the dust storm persisted. There was warning coming on my phone to stay off the roads and we did.
During the dust storm these hills were not visible.
Supper, a movie and off to bed.Sometime during the night the wind stopped.
🤪🤪🤪
