Balmorhea. March 03

Clear sailing today!
Staying at Sadleback Mountain RV. The have land escaped with  cactus.

This is our spot. The sky is so blue and not a cloud in sight.Γ¬
We drove the toad down the road to Balmorhea State Park. The park boasts the worlds largest spring fed pool at 1.3 acres.
From this central part there are two rectangle wings.
The pool has brick sides and brick decking surrounding it. The bottom is natural dirt and rocks. The water bubbles up out of the limestone bottom at a rate of 1.5 million gallons a day. The pool holds 3.5 million gallons of water and  has depths up to 25 feet. Water temperature is between 72° and 76° year round.

We went for a swim. There were fish that surrounded me wherever I went. I spotted a turtle sunning itself, saw another surface for air and one swimming below me. Also shared the pool with ducks.

Did I mention the Saloon at our RV park.
It was a red neck experience and it felt like finally being in Texas.
Some pictures of the interior.
A cowboy, Confederate flag and fee pool. We played a couple of games after eating dinner.
The decor ...
And the TV turned to Fox news.
Small mercies the sound was turned off. The conversation in the bar was most interesting.
On the road tomorrow going to Brantley Lake state park in New Mexico.
