Lake Charles. February 15

Every place we go has it's own hurricane. The one for here is Laura another category 4 which hit in late August 2021. In the park it destroyed old growth Magnolia and Long Leaf Pine. As best as I can tell everything in the park is brand spanking new. There is major attempts to reestablish the Long Leaf Pines.
There are still some old ones around. They have planted Magnolias on both sides of the road running through the park. Haven't seen damage to buildings but we haven't ventured very far from the park. Weather and head colds are keeping us mostly inside.

We did go for a walk around the park between down pours. They also have these signs
I'm starting to believe that after they are posted the alligators leave. It maybe how they protect the humans.
