Chauvin. February 09

Today was a culinary experience of amazing proportions!
But before the foody stuff I have to tell you about and encounter of an extraordinary kind! When I took Suki out for her early morning walk a pod of dolphins came up our canal.  So close I could hear them breath. They were.no more then 3 or 4 feet away. I spotted at least three. I watched them arrive, feed and head back. Sorry  no camera. 🐬🐬🐬

Set out on another adventure looking for the end of yet another road. At the Visitors Center we had received a pamphlet about the Crawfish Trail. Get 5 receipts from any of the many restaurants and win a t-shirt. We stumbled across one of these in Dulac.
They had one of these.
Best of all was their sign.
Best in town for sure. Not just because the food was great but because they are the only one in town. In fact in several towns!

We continued on our journey to the end of the road which did not exist on our map. Finding the end we started on our way back.
Then I saw this sign.
And we did! The woman there was sharing how to make a shrimp boil. "Then you add your crab bomb" at which I stared blankly. She then went and got a 4 liter jug of dark brown-red liquid. By this point my mouth was hanging open. She calmed me by saying " You won't need this much". Then off she went off and came back with a small Tupperware container with a mixture of all the spice I would need!

We took 2lb of these ...

And made this.
So so yummy !!!!
