New Orleans's or Bust9: Day 1

Dec 9, 2022. I was awake at 3:30. Yes pure unadulterated adrenaline!!! I'm super stoked. We were ready and out the door by 6:35. Pick up of motor home and heading to the ferry - smooth as clock work. At the ferry terminal despite two separate bookings I got to go right behind the motor home. Off loaded and right to our predetermined spot to do our hook up. Just me and Dave and a toad named "Towed" of Toad Hall. We then headed toward our arch enemy US Border Crossing. We were totally prepared having spent an extra day getting rid of contraband and making lists. We even checked it twice. Entrance to the United States of America absolutly necessary to the success of our adventure!!

We jumped this hurdle with out breaking a sweat. Woot woot. First stop Blaine Washington and grocery shopping. Not like the good old
 days; other than cheese everythin was as or more expensive than home!! Oh, and wine!!!


Back on to the road. Heading to Bellingham RV Park in Bellingham Oregon.

Port Hardy/Port McNeil/Alert Bay. September 24, 2024

This is the only picture I took of Port McNeil. It's much like Port Hardy.  The big difference I noticed is that Port Hardy has a Save-on-Foods and Port McNeil has an IGA. This is where we caught the ferry over to Alert Bay. You only pay one way. Foot passengers pay $7.60 except seniors who pay $0. I pays to get old! This is the first sign you see when getting off the ferry. This is the second one. Our first stop was at the visitor centre. The woman there had lived her whole life except 8 months in Calgary in Alert Bay.  She's First Nation and was very active in the community. She shared the many First Nations sites in Alert Bay. There are 2 burial grounds currently being used and one historical, a long house, many totems throughout the village and a cultural centre. She recommended seeing the cultural centre to start. It is still 🔥🌞🌞🔥 Every morning at 8:30 this playground fills up with noisy children. It's our walk up call. What a joyful noise to wake up to. This picture is from our front window. The breakfast restaurant is right under the green. Our room has a 'balcony' which translate to sliding balcony doors with a waist high plexiglass barrier so you can't leave the room. Our day was spent at the resort. Lots of relaxing in the shade 😎, eating 🍝, and happy hours 🍷🍸🍹🍺.            Loving all inclusive!
