New Orleans or Bust: Day 5

December 13

AqaI was woke up at 6am to the sound of master chef Dave making a gourmet breakfast. Apple Oatmeal Supreme, made with fresh apples.
Car started (always a good sign). Hook up with only one mistake but easily rectified. On the road by by 9.
I may have forgotten to mention I had to scape windows. But its bright and shiny and not a cloud in site. First time since we left Victoria. Not to mention that there are palm trees everywhere.

Made a quick stop that turned out to be not such a short stop, 2+ hours. Anderson California has a Safeway and Safeway gas station. Filling with gas easy! Not so much the sani dump. Managed to get the toad kinda of jack knifed. It was impossible to get close enough without unhooking the toad. And unhooking the toad was not uneventful. Especially when it started rolling backwards all on it's own. A little panic and a quick sprint to the toad saved the day. Luckily, the safty chains were on and it wouldn't have gone far! Rebooking was mostly uneventful except the 367 times it took to get the power cord in place.

The day was saved by our Harvest Host at Julietta Vinyard.
The drive along the Pasadena River was magnificent as it wandered along the country side. It is just south of Pasadena in Clarksburg California. Dave thought a celebration was due for our achievements so far on our adventure. We planned a dinner in the city but stayed instead for our meal at the vineyard. The Tomato Bisque was exquisite.
Must say Dave enjoyed it.

A movie and off to bed!!
Next stop will be Coalinga and our host will be a museum.
Followed by our first Boondocker host in Backersville.
