New Orleans or Bust: Day 10&11. Dec 18&19

December 18
Woke up early at the winery, hooked up without a hitch and headed out on the highway. Got to San Elijo at 12 noon and was told to come back at 2pm. Lucky us, there was a parking spot on the highway just out side the park.
We trusted our dear friend Google to take us to a dollar store. We arrived, took Suki out of her kennel and she came shopping with us. To my surprise no one turned us away.
Bought a few things, headed back to the car and back to the park.
We went through this intersection which I found most interesting
It was 20 minutes to 2pm when we arrived back at the park. We saw someone being turned away at the gate. We waited the twenty minutes and got entry to paradise. Even though it was somewhat like a parking lot the ocean was just a short walk away.

Our camp site
We set up the barbecue again. This time we actually barbecued. Night before at the winery I heated up the leftovers from the food truck and that filled us up. Anyhow, our first barbecue was a great success. We tried to watch a movie but found niether of us could get interested. So an early bedtime for a couple of weary travelers.

December 19
Early to bed and early to rise, that's us!! Dave's mission while here is to go to Laguna Beach for breakfast at the Penguin Cafe. It was right where he had left it.
We had a delightful breakfast, on the patio with with Suki. And a lovely stroll down memory lane where almost nothing else was the same. We also took a stroll to the beach. Suki loved it.

Google then showed us to Walmart where we picked up provisions to cross the dessert. Back home at the camp Dave and I each had a wee shower in our wee shower! It is very nice to have full service hook up. Clamping rules.
BBQ, adult beverages and to bed.
